Visitor Stats 2 logo Marking Visitors.

Mark a website visitor for easy identification later

Using Visitor Stats 2, I can 'mark' a visitor to my website who has fulfilled a certain task... they might have bought something from my website, or they might be my competitor (or friend!).

The next time this visitor comes back I can easily spot them among my other visitors.

Here I can see myself, 'Yari on Firefox' as I visit my website for the 60th time.

By either manually setting a visitors name (as I have done above), or automatically re-naming a visitor when they visit a certain page, I can see my customers, friends and competitors at a glance when they visit me.

Some examples of how to use Marking...

I might use Marking to identify my customers:

Or visitors who have emailed me via the form on my contact page:

Or a friend of mine:

Some other ideas would be my competitors, affiliate members... the list goes on, and it's completely up to you.

How to Manually Mark a Visitor

Simply click on the visitors name, which usually reads something like 'Win Visitor 189' etc.

At the bottom of each visitor profile there is also a button, , which you can click to re-name a visitor.

Automatically Marking a Visitor

Just place one line of code above the Visitor Stats 2 include line.

The second line Marks the visitor as 'Customer':

You can use any name you like, 'customer', 'contacted me', 'this person viewed my gallery' etc.

It's up to you, and you can change it anytime.

NOTE: Once a visitor is marked, they won't be re-marked by an automatic mark... only by a manual one. This is so you can recognise a visitor, rather than them changing names every time they buy from you, contact you or view your gallery etc.
